"Scotty Snowens And His Scotty Dogs"

Scotty is a one of a kind Original Gourd Snowman created by me Penny Grotz Streit. Scotty is painted as a visual story. His big sweet smile indicates his love for his little scotty dog "Ginger" and her baby "Buddy" sitting in a basket. The dogs are cairn terriers. He also has a penchant for ice cream. On his back is a sign indicating ice cream cones for sale. A little cardinal bird is perched on top of the sign.

He Measures 10" tall by 5 1/2" across.

Scotty has been faux antiqued with an umber wash.

Happy New Year! This lady was created by me and has been a part of my personal collection. I have decided to part with her just in time for Valentines . What a saucy character she is with her pouty pompous expression. I created her from a Gourd and paper clay in 2010. She is artist signed and dated by me with a 1/1 indicating she is a one of a kind and will not be recreated. She was hand painted and holds a heart shaped sign bearing the words of Emily Dickinson. "All I know of love, is that love is all there is". The Queen carries a bouquet of pink roses, chocolates and perfume. A swarvoski crystal is embedded in her crown.

She measures 10" tall by 6 1/2" across.

Several layers of polyurethane has been applied for protection. She has been aged with umber washes and paint splattering.

Owlene was recently published in Celebrate 365 Magazine. This little lady is off for a night of trick or treating. God help those that choose not to treat Owlene, she can have a disturbing attitude when she doesn't get her way. She is pearched upon a pumpkin that is decorated with a spider and web. Owlene is created from Paper mache and then hand painted in rusty orange, black and yellow. Her neck is decorated with fibers to enhance her beauty. Owlene toats a trick or treat bag made of cardboard from her beak. She measures 9 1/2" Tall by 4" across. Felicia is a one of a kind Halloween cat candy container.She holds covered candies in her container. Felicia has four cat faces painted around her container that are similar to the one shown but wearing other hats and one has a mask.

She has been painted in soft black, burnt orange, antique white and soft yellow.

I have faux antiqued her with umber washes. Felicia measures 8 1/2" tall by 3 1/2" across. Materials are paper mache, paper clay, acrylic paint.

This is a one of a kind Vintage style candy container Pumpkin or Jack o Lantern guy, I created him from paper clay. He was hand painted in soft black vintage white and burnt orange and then faux antiqued. His bow is embellished with black german glass glitter. Jack sports a vintage style Halloween tag from a wire around the container. Jack is full of whimsy as he really doesn't give out corpse dust but Halloween candy. He really enjoys pulling pranks.

Several coats of polyurethane were applied for durability.

Mr. Pete Easterly at your sevice. Pete is a one of a kind paper mache Rabbit. Pete's a debonair guy or so he thinks. Though he is fond of Easter I have painted him in colors and design that would make him suitable for display all year long.

Pete measures 9 1/2" tall by 5 3/4" across.

He sports a green vest decorated with little carrots. His undershirt is a vintage white with pink polka dots. He wears a top hat adorned with a checked hat band. I created her from paper mache for sturdiness and used some paper clay for detail.

She has a wire handle. A fiber trim was applied around her neck for added decor.

He's the man!Archie is a one of a kind papier mache snowman who I have just listed on Ebay. He is decorated with a lot of fu fu. A fleece scarf, a velvet hat band with some whispers of fibers resembling feathers sticking out. His wire arms are posable. He holds hand made suckers, a candy cane and two vintage style tags created by none other than Jan Davis of Big Brown Dog Graphics check her out on Digital Antiques on Etsy for some really sweet tags, labels, graphics, etc. His vest is handpainted in two hues of green.

Delicious Soup Recipe

Cabbage/Potato Soup

Grocery list:

1/2 cup Onion

1 cup Celery

4 Carrots

7 cubed Potatoes

2 cans chicken broth

1 Head cabbage or a sack of shredded cabbage

1 stick butter or margarine

1 can evaporated mild

3/4 lb.velveeta cheese

In a large dutch oven or pot, saute carrots. celery, onion and saute together over medium heat. Add cabbage and saute some more. Stir in chicken broth. Add potatoes and cover with enough water to keep from scorching or cooking dry. Cook on low to medium heat. When vegetables are tender add 1 can evaporated milk and velveeta cheese. Ready to serve when cheese melts. Makes a huge amount.

Hattie May Hallows is all decked out for the Halloween Ball. Hattie holds a candy corn in one hand and a little jack o lantern pail in the other. Rumor has it she and Count Thurston Trueblood are romantically linked and he is picking her up in his hearst at midnight. Hattie is considered a great beauty amongst the Halloween society. Personally I think she needs to trim the mole hair growing out of her chin. Hattie is attired in only the finest.Her hat is adorned with a hat band of german glass glitter. She has spider webs on the front and back of her cloak. There is a spider that dangles from the web on her back.

Hattie was constructed from papier Mache and paper clay. Her size is 8" tallny 4 1/2"across. She was then meticulously painted in Halloween colors of orange, black, yellow and vintage white. Several coats of acrylic varnish were applied for protection. Thanks for looking. Penny

Count Thurston Trueblood

May I present to you, Count Thurston Trueblood. He is a malovelant vampire and will not actually drink blood from a live human host. Instead he nurses blood from the steam punk perpetual heart he carries around. Thurston deems himself as quite the ladys man and the ladys do see him as kind of a sex object. He was fun to make and was created from papier mache and paper clay.

Don't forget to buy some chips. And again stop and take out a loan at the bank before shopping. It makes a huge amount so you can halfen it if you wish. After you make it I would advise reviewing the recipe one last time as it has so much in it I had realized I had forgotten the cheese.

Sly stands in vigil over the Halloween candy. He protects it from thieves until Ocober 31st when he allows all the trick or treaters to help themselves. And the odd thing is the candy never runs out. It magically fills up when it starts to empty!

I just recieved this paint organizer yesterday and I do think its all that and a side of chips!. It holds 144 bottles of paint and swirls around as needed. If you don't already have one I think it was a good investment to keep down clutter. Cost was about 29.00 which included shipping, handling and tax. You can find them on the web. Also the dude hiding in the cup is a skelleton work in progress
